What Is VRG?

During your stay here in Leuven, the VRG is going to be your guardian angel and your worst nightmare: we'll give you pleasure in the evening, a headache in the morning and a painkiller in the afternoon!

What does VRG mean? In Flemish it stands for Vlaams Rechtsgenootschap, for the few of you who don't speak Dutch, it is -in english- the Flemish Law Society.

The VRG praesidium is the students' organisation of the law faculty as it is elected by all law students. It is a group of 70 volunteers, working very hard to make sure that the three goals are taken care of. These three goals are: organisation, information and providing specific faculties for law students.

First of all we organise all kinds of parties, cultural and sport events. Secondly, we inform law students about all our activities and those of other organisations, the latest gossip, competitions,... in our two-monthly magazine 'Balans'. Every week we also give students a small "what's up this week" in the 'Minibalans'. Finally, we provide law students with cheap course literature and represent them in various university bodies.

If you like to take advantage of all the things we offer, you should buy a membership-card. This indispensable door-opening card will only cost you 10 EUR and treats you on many discounts for VRG-activities and publications. You will certainly get value for your money! You can buy it at the VRG headquarters at the Tiensestraat 53.
